Chicago Game Day: Go to the Venue or Watch at the Pub

A stadium ticket and a morning soccer match make different plans. Choose the actual Chicago game, then the place to eat.

Baseball keeps the ballpark in the name

Wrigley Field is the Cubs’ North Side ballpark. Rate Field is the White Sox destination on the South Side. Smoke Daddy ... Wrigleyville belongs to the Wrigleyville plan.

An arena or the lakefront stadium

United Center, Soldier Field and Wintrust Arena are different venues. Check the team’s current schedule and your ticket before making a meal part of the trip.

Soccer on a pub screen

The Globe Pub and AJ Hudson’s Public House publish their sports schedules. Early opening depends on the match. Confirm your fixture rather than assuming a pub shows every game.

Streeterville viewing

Timothy O’Toole’s ... Chicago is the Chicago Fairbanks Court branch. Use its own calendar for viewing and events; suburban branches have separate programs.
